Video Transcript for Husky Front Mud Flap Installation - 2012 Toyota 4Runner

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4 Runner, we're going to install the Husky Liners Custom Molded Mud Flaps part number HL56921. This set comes with two pieces one for the driver and one for the passenger side. Well go ahead and take the driver side and kind of fit it into place. This will allow me to take a measurement or a mark so I know I need to clean from this point to the bottom edge of the paint so that we can apply a clear plastic film. The clear plastic film will go in between the mud flap in the body this will help protect the paint. So, Ill go ahead and take a cleaner here, spray down the area, wipe it clean and make sure we have the entire area dry as we next going to go back with the soap and water mix and apply to the surface.

This will allow us to put our clear film in place and move it around as necessary to get in position. With our soap and water apply we can go ahead and take our clear film and this going to start it up the paper that comes from install kit. With some kind of comfort it for guys started for now we'll go and remove the rest of the paper and roll out the rest of the film.Next we can take a squeegee, a brush or soft household spatula, drag it along the clear film to push out any water or air bubble. Now, while we're letting our clear film dry and set up, we're going to address the mini mud flap. Some application will have will have this mini mud flap.

If you do it will be necessary to cut off the bottom edge of it so that we can install the new mud flap. So, next time well go ahead, remove it, take the utility knife, cut it off and then reinstall it.To remove it weve got two plastic push pins and a Phillip screw. Plastic push pins can be removed by prying the center cap out and then remove in this push pin fastener. We take a tape measure we're going to cut off about approximately the bottom 2. Now, what we're going to do is go ahead and re install it only will only be using the top few fasteners.

Now, we have the mini mud flap reinstalled. Were going to ahead and remove the two inner wall fasteners. Hang on these fasteners that we will reuse them when we install the mud flap. Now, this will give us three attachment points from the mud flap. The inner wall fastener at the top, it will fasten to the bottom and then a mud flap attachment point.Lets go ahead and put a new mud flap in position.

Well reinstall the inner fender well screws. For our bottom attachment point, well be using these screw and fastener supply with our install kit. The fastener will go behind the mud flap and inner fender well. To all three fasteners in position we'll go ahead and tight them down. Now, with all three fasteners tighten down we'll go ahead and reinstall our tire wheel and that complete the installation of our Husky Liner Custom Molded Mud Flap part number HL56921 on our 2012 Toyota 4 Runner. The mud flaps were great, the installation video on you tube was a big help. They were delivered on time and the packaging was the best i have ever seen. I will definately do business with etrailer in the future.

by:

The mudflaps installed easily for the most part. I still have to drill some holes for the rear mudflaps. I need a right angle drill, so I don't have to remove the dually wheels in order to drill the holes. These seem nice and sturdy and well made. I am not sure of the length of the rear flaps yet, seems they should be longer than they are. Good product, haven't tried them out yet to see if they deflect debris well. I am hopeful.

by:

The mud flaps are perfect and fit well. Can not beat the price also. I am including some photos of them installed. Installation was easy and they look great.

by:

It took me less than 5 minutes to put both mud flaps/splash guards on my Lincoln MKX. This should stop the front tires from spraying water all over the side of my car. I originally tried to get Ford mud flaps but they don't make molded ones like these. They look great. etrailer was great in getting out to me and following up. Good product and great supplier.

by:

Installed easy, good looking product. Did NOT have to remove tire to install, just turned the wheel and it allowed lots of room. Sturdy.

by:

I installed these Mud guards on a 1996 GMC Dually with factory dually flares.
They fit and look like they belong with the factory dually flares - exceeded my expectations.
All I did was slot two holes to allow for factory variances in panel fit (occurs on all vehicles) and I replaced the supplied sheetmetal screws with stainless quarter inch bolts/nuts for stronger attachment points. Very easy installation.
This fit and custom look is far better than flaps blowing in the wind. Highly recommended!

by:

A very good product. The installation was very easy, and they look great on the car!

by:

Super easy and fast install. Look great. Covers tire tread. Mounted without even having to turn or remove wheels. Removed factory screws, placed guards into position with holes which lined up exactly and re-installed screws. Very pleased with Husky product and etrailer service. Will be ordering fronts now.

by:

Great addition to my truck and they work as good as they look. Super simple install and looks factory equipped. Excellent fit and they appear to be durable also. etrailer is an excellent choice for parts and excellent customer service. Thank you Stacy..

by:

Perfect fit for the S10 ZR2 with factory flares; uses one of the factory mounting screws and then you drill two new holes. Took about an hour to install as I removed the tires. Will have to see how they hold up to the wind - may come back and add a little silicone adhesive for extra security.

by:

These are fantastic! I would buy more, only you know, there's only one place to put the pair.

by:

The mud flaps were easy to install, look great and enhance the appearance of my dually!

by:

Just as easy to mount as the rear. Nothing about these to dislike. Look great. Remove screws position guards in position re-install screws. EASY-EASY-EASY. Very pleased with Husky product and etrailer service

by:

Perfect fit front & back...Easy installation, so easy the wife could have done it. Excellent customer service too.

by:

There are good installation instructions. If you have any questions watch the installation video found on the web site. There were no problems with the installation. They secure firmly to your vehicle. I chose the Husky mud
guards over the WeatherTech because of their appearance and the way they secure to your vehicle. With fall rains the leaves and needles are caught by the mud guards and not kicking up on my truck.

by:

Decent mudflaps, quality seems to there, have to take rear wheels off ti install, but I expected that. Only thing that would have made this a better deal is if there would have been speed nuts for all the screws

by:

Another great experience at etrailer. After quite a bit of research, decided on the Husky Mud Flaps. Came with full instructions, and after confirming the fit, I had all 4 installed in a couple hours.

They look great, and more importantly, they will do the job of keeping most of the rocks and mud off of my 2018 Ram 3500.

by:

Decent product, quality seems to be there, was able to install with front wheels still on, only thing that would have made it a better deal is if there were speed nuts for all the screws,I went to harbor freight and bought some

by:

Website was good about choosing which mud flaps were right for the vehicle. I ordered, and within minutes received a phone call from etrailer saying they were on back order and would be shipped on a certain day. Sure enough, they were. The flaps are far better quality than came from the dealer (the back ones). Instructions are easy, and the flaps fit exactly on my truck, and very easy to put on. Holes matched perfectly, and they're on in just a few minutes.

by:

The mud flaps are perfect and fit well. Can not beat the price also. I am including some photos of them installed. Installation was easy and they look great.

by:

Great fit! Easy to install on my 2007 SD 250 w/Factory Fender Flairs. I received a call from one the trailer reps to let me know my order would be delayed. The unit was out of stock. I was offered to have my shipment delivered direct from the manufacturer at no cost to me. What a great company to deal with...I will be ordering other items in the future.

by:

Easy to install and looks great. One year later they look like new. Great quality AA++

by:

Product arrived as stated and in great shape! I would recommend etrailer as your one-stop-shopping place. They have it all and great customer service, best shipping bar none. Many thanks from a very satisfied customer.

by:

These are what was promised.
Easy mounting,
all the screw holes matched up and the fit was exact.
The flaps are full width (of the stock tires).
There were no burrs or plastic shavings to be dealt with.
They very road use durable (haven't tested them off road) and do what a mud flap is meant to do.

by:

I usually don't reply to these follow up enquiries but etrailer is the exception to the rule. The products are doing well but more importantly to me was the customer service I experienced. One product was on long back order but etrailer did keep me informed about time lines and expected new delivery dates. I thought that was exceptional customer service. When I finally did get the order there were parts missing from the mud flaps and again etrailer was exceptional in getting the missing items sent on to me. It was frustrating to experience these delays but they were issues that originated with suppliers and not etrailer. Each time I called etrailer I spoke with a knowledgeable representative who conveyed a sincere desire to get the issues resolved. As I said, at the time it was frustrating for me experiencing these delays and missing parts but even at those times it has clear to me that etrailer was delivering super customer service and I was escaping the usual indifferent corporate runarounds. Well done, Etrailer, the people at Etrailer seem to be doing great work since I am sending off an endorsement to a company where my order took months to get to me and then had missing parts.

Regards,

  • Will Husky Liners Mud Flaps Fit 2011 Toyota 4Runner with Westin Platinum Series Nerf Bars Installed
The Husky mud flaps, # HL56921, have not been tested for fit with the Westin tube steps installed. You will need to do a little measuring between the end of the bar towards the wheel to determine how much space is available. The mud flaps mount to the inside of the wheel well. If you measure from that point back towards the wheel and you have more than 1-5/8 inches of space, the mud flaps will fit. I have included a picture showing the measurement and a video review of the flaps for you.

  • Installing Husky Liner Mudflaps on a 2011 Toyota 4Runner
For that lower mounting hole on Husky Liners mudflap # HL56921 you will need to make sure that you have placed the included u-clip on the back side of the fender liner. You will not want to place the clip over the fender liner or fender. It goes behind the fender liner. It sounds like you are possibly placing the clip in the wrong place.

  • Husky Liners Mud Flap Fits for 2013 Toyota 4Runner
Add-on fender flares are hard plastic flares added to the metal around the wheel wells, typically found on the Trail models. The add-on flares are what will prevent the mud flaps from being used. If you have the metal flares that are formed into the steel around the wheel openings, and do NOT have the factory running boards, the front mud flaps you referenced, part # HL56921 will work just fine for you. If you DO have the running boards, but NOT the add-on fender flares, the rear mud guards...
